Unicortical Blocks consist of two elements: a porous scaffold to help facilitate graft incorporation and vascularization; and a cortical anterior surface for graft support and stability. The roughened interface of the unicortical block resists migration by providing good apposition purchase while the porosity provides a large surface area for osteoconduction.
